She's Here
Avery Ann made her appearance this morning at 8:09 weighing in at 8 lb 7 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. Eric and I are very proud and excited. We think she is beautiful, and that she looks just like her big brother. Noah has met her, and seems very proud too. He is naturally being gentle and likes when she holds his finger. This is a huge relief, because I didn't know what to expect from him. I know we have a period of transistion ahead of us, but I am glad his initial reaction to her has been so positive.

Avery Ann Roan
Tomorrow will be a big day for our little family. I am scheduled to go into the hospital for a c-section at 8:00 and the world will be introduced to Avery Ann Roan. We are very excited to get to meet her and to begin this new journey.
I am starting to get nervous. Not just about the procedure, although that is part of it, but also about how Noah will react, and how to juggle two kids. My head tells me people do this all the time, but my heart is sad for Noah and how much his little secure world with Mommy and Daddy will change. I know we will all adjust and he won't even remember life without her before long but I just hope it goes smoothly.
I am thrilled to be having a little girl, and am already overwhelmed by the clothes that are out there. After I found out she was a girl, I started to do a little shopping and ended up leaving a couple of store with nothing because I couldn't choose. I can't wait for the cute shoes, bows and dresses. Noah is fun to dress because it is easy to pick from the small amount they have in the stores, but a girl is going to be a different story.
So, please pray for us tomorrow morning, that our transition into a family of four goes smoothly, also that the c-section goes smoothly and that Avery is healthy. There will be plenty of pictures to follow after our new little angel arrives.

So I Don't Forget...
Not that it is possible to ever forget this, but Noah is obsessed right now with the song "This Ole' Man". He asks to hear it all the time, and I mean all the time. Before we get in the car, while riding in the car, while playing in his room, and even as soon as I go get him out of his bed in the morning. He will play very nicely in his room, if I put his CD player on #20 repeat and let him listen to it over and over. Eric and I are surprised we don't dream about the song every night.
He even sings it to himself when no one will play it for him. It is a very cute version that he sings, and while he doesn't get all the words correct, he does get the numbers right and in order. Obviously, he won't do it for us on video, but we hope to catch him in the act soon.

Happy Birthday Noah T.....
We had Noah's 2nd birthday part at The Little Gym and he had a blast. We had a very good turnout of family and friends and thank each of you for coming.

LSU vs McNeese Tailgate
The LSU vs McNeese game was a big game for the Roan crew since Gammy and Poppy are McNeese season ticket holders, Gammy used to teach at LSU and Uncle Micha, Aunt Krista and Kayleigh are McNeese Alums. The whole Krewe was in town for the game and Eric and I took Noah out to campus for some tailgating. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and Noah had a wonderful time. LSU ended up winning the game, but not by much like was expected.

First Haircut
Noah's hair was starting to get out of control in the back. It was growing long in the back and most days he had a poofball of fuzz. It was time for a haircut. Eric and I go to the same hairdresser, and he gives a child's first haircut for free, so we decided to go on Friday and get the poof of hair cut off.

This is a picture of the poof of frizz from a couple weeks ago. It was really cute when it was wet because it would curl. Otherwise, it was just a mass of hair.

Noah was so so good during his haircut. Jeffrey gave him a squirt bottle to play with and he just sat on Eric's lap and didn't say a word. We were surprised because his behavior could have gone either way.
Such a big boy
