Training Him Early

Eric got home last night and decided to spread the fertilizer in the yard because it was supposed to rain today. I was cooking dinner, so he said he would put Noah in his carrier and walk with him to spread the fertilizer. Now he knows how to do it and he can do it next year.

OK, Daddy I got it. Straight lines. Now GO!

Daddy don't miss that row. We don't want our front yard looking like a baseball field.

My Future's So Bright, I've Got to Wear Shades

Grama went to the beach with her friends this weekend, and it rained so they HAD to go to Foley and go shopping. She came back with quite a load for Noah, including this hat and sunglasses. We are now ready for summer. Bring on the boat rides and swimming pools.

Yes, I know I am cool. You don't have to tell me.

I am ready to go swimming.

Someone fix this hat, it looks like I have a sombrero on.

Easter Bunny

We went to see the Easter Bunny today. We were excited because there was no line so we went right up. Noah did great. He didn't cry at all and didn't seem scared by the big bunny. He didn't want to sit in the Easter Bunny's lap though, he just wanted to stand up. We got one great pic of him sitting (kind of) and smiling. The others were just funny and a struggle for the poor bunny.

I don't want to sit on this thing. Who is this guy?

OOOHHH, you're the EASTER bunny. Now I get it, your the one who brings me goodies. I will sit and smile for you.

Mommy come get me. I was good, now I will get my goodies from him.

See you in a few weeks Mr. Bunny.

Sick and Swinging

Noah has caught his first cold from Mommy. I feel so bad for him, he can't breathe through his nose and there is not a whole lot I can do for him except suction his nose and he just LOVES that. He also started coughing today, so hopefully this is close to the end.

I don't feel so hot, but I really am enjoying this swing.

On a happy note, his Gammy bought him a swing this weekend and he loves it. Even when he is sick he is happiest outside, so I bring him out there to swing and make him feel a little better. He gets so relaxed in the swing that it is hard to get a smile out of him, but I promise he really loves it. He just gets so mellow, just like he does when he is in his stroller.
I could just go right to sleep.
I told you I loved this. Just being out here makes me feel better.

First Crawfish Boil

Our good friend Ms. Katie had a birthday last weekend so she had a crawfish boil. Our first one of the season because they are so expensive this year. This was Noah's first crawfish boil and while he didn't get to eat the crawfish, he did enjoy himself. He was outside and with people he knows and loves, how much better can it get.
Hmm, Daddy what are those orange things. They sure smell good. Can I taste one?
Happy as always in my stroller.
Yummy!!!

5 months

Our sweet little man turned 5 months old on Saturday. Once again I am amazed at how fast time goes. He is so precious to me, and I enjoy my time with him. He has grown alot in the past month. We went to the Dr on Friday and he weighed 16 lb 8 oz and was 27 inches long. His height was in the 90th percentile, weight in the 50-75th and his big ole noggin was in the 75-90th percentile. We laugh because his head started off in the 50th percentile, then at 2 months was in the 75th. Unfortunately his head is outgrowing the rest of him.

Here are some of the things that Noah is doing right now.
*He is teething big time. While there are no teeth, he is rather fussy right now and chewing and drooling on everything. In fact, he is laying here fussing at me right now.

*He can roll from front to back because he has done is many time, but I don't think he likes to do it because he doesn't do it often. He is really close to going back to front. He goes onto his side and with one little push would be on his tummy.

*He is still eating 4 - 6oz bottles a day, along with a 1/4cup of oatmeal in the morning. We are still working our way through the fruits but so far he likes them all. Carrots are the only thing he doesn't like as of right now.

*He is getting a bath at about 7:30 then his bottle and going right to sleep until somewhere between 6:30 and 8:30 in the morning.

*He is now taking two naps in his bed a day. The morning one comes about 2 hours after he wakes up and the afternoon one comes about 1:00-2:00 and he sleeps for about 2 hours each nap.

*When he gets tired he rubs his eyes hard and get real cranky. This is when I know to go lay him in his bed. He might fuss for a few minutes, sometimes, but he then goes right to sleep.

*He is getting close to holding his own bottle. He will hold it if I am holding him and if I put his hands on it. I tried to lay him on his boppy pillow to see if he would hold it but he didn't want anything to do with it yet. When the bottle is empty he will grab it and put it in his mouth, but won't do this when it is full. He just screams at me until I put it in his mouth. Also, when I get the bottle out of the warmer, and I am holding him on my hip, he will grab for the bottle and lower his head onto the bottle and start sucking. The boy likes to eat.

*He is also real close to sitting up. He will sit between my legs and balance for a good while. He sometimes will lean forward so that his elbows touch the ground, or he will launch himself backwards.

*He smiles and laughs at us all the time and is developing more of a personality. I am afraid quite the temper too.

*His favorite thing to do, both when happy and mad. Is raise both his feet in the air at once and slam them into the ground, or bed. The kid must have amazing ab muscles, because when he was lying on the floor next to me, I tried it and it is quite hard.

A little jumping, a little hiding

Today I was able to catch Noah juming in his jumper. As you can see he isn't very coordinated. I put two videos on here, one is of him juming more but you can't see his face. The 2nd one is a little jumping, a little music making, and a little chewing. It is so funny to see him chew on this thing because it looks like he is hiding.

Grama and PawPaw

While Daddy went fishing this weekend, Grama and PawPaw were nice enough to let us stay at their house. They were alot of help to me, which was needed because when Noah is out of his element for an extended period of time he gets quite fussy. He also doesn't sleep well when not in his bed. By the last night there, he was doing much better and got through most of the night. It was rainy and cold most of the days there, which was not fun because we had big outside plans like going on a boat ride. We had fun anyway doing our day to day activities such as playing in his exersaucer, swinging and reading books. Thanks Grama and PawPaw for all your help.

Grama you read just as good as Mommy. I am enthralled with this number book.

What a cheeseball! He got the teething ring stuck on his nose and sat like that for a full minute turning his head from side to side before it fell off. It was hysterical.

I am always happy in PawPaw's arms.

I am the MAN!!

Carrots

Noah has now eaten and liked green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, squash and bananas. He has also eaten carrots. You decide what he thought about those.

Please, don't ever make me eat those again. Yuck!!!

Chewing on Everything

Noah loves sitting in his exersaucer and he discovers new parts on it everyday. He recently found this star and one day he was pulling on it and it came off. The next day he started pulling on it and it wouldn't come off and he threw quite a fit. I am afraid he may have gotten his Mama's temper. I guess he decided, it was fine if it didn't come off, he would just stick it in his mouth instead. Just like everything else, I suppose. It sure will be nice when those teeth come in.

This star is good. I am going to drool all over this. Yummy!!!

Jump, Jump

We recently hung Noah's doorway jumper and he really seems to like it. When you pull on the handle it sings to you and tells you to jump, and there are buttons to push that make more noise. He really is getting good at using his hands to make lots of noise. He bounces a little in it, but hasn't really figured that part out yet. Once he does it a little more, I will post video of this. Right now I can't catch it on camara, he doesn't do it enough, but it is funny because he is quite spastic while doing it.

This is fun. Something new to do besides play in my exersaucer.

Concentrating....

Looks like he is hiding, but he is not. He is gnawing on the plastic. When we say everything goes in the mouth we mean it.

Gammy's

We haven't seen Gammy in a while so we went to visit her last Sunday night. We had a lot of fun in our short visit. Mema came over and she got to give Noah a bottle. It is a running joke in Eric's family that Mema has no lap so it is hard for her to hold the babies. We nestled Noah in there and she got to give him a bottle. She was very happy to do this and of course Noah appreciated being fed. We went for a short walk in Noah's big boy stroller, which he now fits in and love. As soon as you put him in the stroller he relaxes and starts cooing. It is the cutest thing.

I Love this stroller. It mellows me so I can enjoy the ride.

Catching a pic during tummy time.

Hmm, what is that I see?

Gammy, you are so interesting, tell me more.

Thanks for feeding me Mema, this is very special for me.

Noah and Daddy playing at Gammy's. Notice how he looks at the camara. It looks like he is checking to make sure we are getting this on film.
