Just some pics...

After this my blogging will be up to date. Of course, we are going on vacation this weekend so I will right back to it next week hopefully. These are just a couple pics of the kiddos. Enjoy!!

???

Still loves to read. After we've had a library book for a week, he can recite them back to us. I am always impressed.

Happy Girl!!

On the Move

Our sweet girl is now a crawler. Well actually a scooter, but she is mobile, folks. She isn't very fast as she is just using her arms to propel herself places but she is getting a little fast everyday. This is exactly how Noah started. He scooted, then army crawled, then finally crawled. She is mobile two weeks earlier than Noah was. Of course, she won't let me get it on camara. Today I tried for 10 minutes, and every single time I would push the "record" button she would stop moving. I'll get her though and I will post.

Just so I remember

As I have said before this blog is my new age baby book which is why I write somethings that you may think are silly to write about. This is probably one of them.

Last Friday night we were going to go eat at Hilltop on the Diversion Canal. We told Noah we were going to Hilltop and he said "Yeah, I want to go eat at Tiptops." He then proceeded to giggle and giggle at himself like he had just made the best joke in the world. We laughed too of course because he was funny, and then he continued to say it over and over, all the while cracking up laughing at himself.

Oh the sense of humor is starting to come out, and it is funny. He was laughing again at himself tonight and Eric asked him if he had the giggles. He started cracking up again saying that he had the giggle and cries. He would say it and giggle hysterically. Then we asked him where we went to eat last Friday and he said "tiptops" and that started it all over again.

What a funny kid!!

Picking Tomatoes

A few months back, Eric and Noah planted some cherry tomatoes in a pot. Together they have been watching the plant grow, watering it, and feeding it. Now after all their hard work, they are ready to be picked. So every night they go out there and pick the "baby tomatoes" and then Noah eats one. He has enjoyed this little project, and Eric hopes he likes tomatoes as much as he does.

Mother's Day

To think that 4 years ago, Mother's Day was one of the most painful days of the year, makes it so much more special now. I am so blessed to have my two precious babies, and to be able to share them with such a wonderful man. I thank God everyday for giving me these two sweet little people to love and to love me in return.

We spent Mother's Day at the house, and had Baba, PawPaw and Craka over. Eric grilled hamburgers and our children enjoyed our guests. It was a nice day and I am glad I got to spend it with all the people I love most.

Little Miss in her pool playing with Baba.

Noah was too busy wearing Craka out to want to get in the pool with Avery.

Concentrating very hard on her boat.

I Love this picture of my Dad and Avery. This might be a printable.

Avery in her Pool

We picked up Avery after the show and went home. After everyone napped we played outside for a little while. It was warm enough to "swim" so we filled Avery's pool and stripped her down and let her swim in her pool for the first time. She loved it, and was fascinated by the water. Noah didn't want to get in so he just played around her in the back yard.

Toy Story on Ice

The Friday night before Mother's Day Avery went to stay with Baba and PawPaw, so Noah and I enjoyed an afternoon together. We went to the park and went to get ice cream, then we came home and watched a movie together. All of this was because on Saturday morning we were going to see Toy Story 3 on Ice. Since Noah liked Sesame Street Live so much, and has a small obsession with Toy Story I was thinking he would really like this show. I was right. He sat very still the entire show and was totally enthralled. You could see his little eyes light up when Woody and Buzz came out on the ice. It was a great experience that Eric and I could share with our little man. Well worth the $7 popcorn that made him so happy too.

Daddy and Noah before the show.

Mommy and Noah waiting for Buzz.

Paying such close attention.

The cast and characters. It was quite impressive to see how the characters skated and how some of the other ones moved was quite a mystery.

Before I Go On: Avery Update

Before I continue with what we have been doing the past few weeks, I want to record the fact that Avery got her first tooth yesterday and the second one today. They are both on the bottom and now we wait for the top ones and hope they come in as easy.

She also started talking up a storm this weekend. Not really talking, but she went from hardly babbling at all, to constantly talking to us. I tried to get it on video but she quit every single time I turned on the camara. I am not kidding and I tried 4 times.

Next step, crawling and she is close.

Avery- Months 6 and 7

Now that Avery is almost 8 months I figure it is a perfect time to post her 6 month stats. I mean why do it on time, huh? At her 6 month appointment, she was 16 lbs, 3 oz, 26 in long, and her head is 17 inches around. She was in the 50th percentile all the way around. She is an excellent baby and we can't get over how much she sleeps. We thought Noah was an excellent sleeper, but this baby has got him beat. She sleeps 13 hours at night, cat naps through out the morning and then sleeps for 3 1/2 - 4 hours in the afternoon. You can lay her down in her bed totally awake and she will just pop that thumb in her mouth roll over and you don't hear from her again until she is done sleeping. We laugh because we can't stress to people enough how much she needs her sleep either. When she cries, we are 99% sure it is because she is tired and ready to go to bed. She doesn't seem to get upset when she is hungry or dirty just tired.

She eats well, and will try whatever I put in front of her. She eats all babyfood still and isn't quite ready for table food. She will eat puffs and yogurt bites, but I tried to give her some "real" people food and she gagged and threw up the veggies she had just eaten. It is hard to tell how much food to give her because she will just keep eating and eating. So I am just giving her oatmeal and fruit in the mornings, one veggie for lunch and a veggie meat combo for dinner. She also gets a 6 oz bottle in the morning, 5 oz for lunch, 5 oz after nap and 6 oz before bed.

Here are some pics of her when she was 6 months. I will post some more recent ones in a later post.

She loves her brother and lights up when he talks to her. He is still really good with her and gets a little upset and nervous when she starts crying. He says, "Mom, what is wrong with my sister." He prays every night for God to bless "Avery Ann Potato" and wonders often what is "soul sister" is doing. Both of those lovely little nicknames are from me, and seem to have stuck. Soul Sister comes from a song by "Train" and Potato just got shortened from calling her a little sweet potato. When people ask him what his sisters name is he always answers "Avery Ann Potato." Then I have to explain the whole thing. Then again, he also says his name is "Noah Tater Tot". Hmm, think we like potatoes in this family

So hard to get a good picture of the two of them. This isn't great but one of the better ones.

Loves her Daddy and lights up when he comes home. Funny thing is though, if he feeds her at night she screams and screams as soon as the bottle is done. She won't do it any other time of day, but at night she wants her Mommy. All other times of day, she loves Eric and smiles big for him, but at night not so much.

Aaaargh, Daddy I am going to eat your head.

Pinwheel, just a bigger version of a puff. Keeps her entertained while we eat dinner. Except now she eats them too fast.

De-Noonied

Well, it had to happen. He is 2 1/2 and probably too attached to the noonie so we had to find a way to get rid of it. I thought about a visit from the "noonie fairy," or just going cold turkey. At the last minute one night I decided to cut it and then he could still have it if he wanted. Well we cut it with great celebration and put him to bed. I was very fearful that he wouldn't sleep that night at all. To my surprise, he went right to sleep but didn't want his noonie any more because it felt weird. We cut it for about 2 nights, and he still wanted it but only to stick on his thumb. Then it fell under his bed and it was gone.

I was definitely more sad about this than he was. It signals that he is becoming a big boy and while that makes me happy of course, it makes me sad too. He has been totally fine without it since that first cutting. He woke up crying about night 2, and just seemed sad. He didn't ask for the noonie, but it seemed like he was missing it. After that, nothing and he still sleeps like an angel at night. Naps on the other hand are a different story.

Easter

We spent Easter at Toledo Bend with Gammy, Poppy and the Duffy crew. It was a nice time. Noah enjoyed staying up late, eating cake and candy, and playing with his cousins. Avery just likes being outside and being around people so she was content as can be. Our little man ran a fever one night and didn't feel so great for a day or so, but he didn't let it slow him down. He still wore everyone out playing outside and running up and down the hill. Avery just soaked up the attention and let everyone love on her.

Whenever she got cranky someone would just swing slowly with her and she would go right to sleep.

Poppy teaching Noah how its done.

We brought her walker so she could play outside without someone having to hold her constantly

Nanny Krista and Avery Ann

Enjoying one of his many treats over the weekend.

He found a little Buzz Lightyear in Gammy's toybox and he went everywhere with Noah all weekend. He even helped us dye Easter eggs.

Avery and cousin Karoline

Noah helping entertain his sister.

Just chillin, waiting for supper.

Gotta block the sun.

Oooh, the Easter Bunny brought Toy Story 2.

The Easter Bunny also brought a bubble machine for Noah and Avery.

Finding all the eggs that the Bunny brought too.

"Yook Mama, I found a big egg!"

The Easter Bunny left some stuff at home, so he had to make a 2nd stop for Noah at our house. Silly, forgetful Easter Bunny.

Playgroup Easter Egg Hunt

Whew, having two kids under the age of 3 is a lot of work and we have been busy. Unfortunately, the blog has been a casualty. Don't worry, I am going to try and catch up in the next couple of days and bring you up to speed on what we have been up to since April. Nothing too exciting, but I know you want to see pics of my beautiful babies, so I shall bring them to you.

A few days before Easter we had a playgroup Easter egg hunt at Molly Kate and Walker's house. While obviously Avery was to young to participate, Noah had fun especially after he discovered the eggs has candy in them.

3 amigos ready to go get the eggs.

My girl and I.

I am not sure what he was doing here. Probably either telling me "NO" he wasn't going to do something, or "YES" he was going to do something since he is two and can be disagreeable any ole minute. I wanted to post this pic so that this face can be documented and when I get sentimental about how much I miss him being little I can remember this attitude. Don't get me wrong, he is a very sweet boy and can be such a darling, but then on bad days BAM, mood swing and this is what you get.
