10th Anniversary Cruise

Sometime around March, Eric surprised me with a cruise for our 10th Anniversary. We both highly anticipated the time where we could relax, and do what WE wanted without the kiddos. We ate when we wanted for as long as we wanted. We slept when we wanted for as long as we wanted and we played when we wanted for as long as we wanted. It was wonderful and I am so very appreciative for the vacation.
We had a balcony room and we could see as far as could be any time of day. The water was beautiful and the view was spectacular.

I am not so fond of this picture above, but wanted to highlight the wristbands and note that we had some pretty rough seas at times, but those wristbands really helped. They were not all that fashionable, but it really didn't matter because I got to feeling bad until I put them on and then felt good enough to enjoy my cosmo at the ships martini bar.

I was amazed at how much entertainment the cruise ship had. Sunday night we went to see a comedian that was very funny, and we played bingo and watched a couple shows other days.

Our ship made two stops, in Progresso and in Cozumel. Progresso didn't have a whole lot to do, but we did get off the ship and walk around the port. We found this little bar, that had writing all over the walls, floor and bar. People had signed and dated everywhere. On the back wall of the bar, an LSU and Saints flag were hanging. Little pieces of home all the way in Mexico.
Water was gorgeous the whole trip once we got out of the Mississippi River.
Bartender in Progresso sporting his LSU hat.

We had to sign our names too.

After we walked around in Progresso a bit, we got back on the ship and it was fairly empty which was nice. Eric took this opportunity to do the ships waterslide. Here is his final descent.
Drinks before Dinner.

Carnival thinks of everything. We got seranaded with a Happy Anniversary song during dinner. Very nice although quite embarrassing.

In Cozumel we did an excusion. We went to a private beach and enjoy water sports, all you can drink and Mexican buffet. It was the best day of the trip. Very fun and very relaxing. You can see the kayaks, water bikes, water trampoline and iceberg in the background. We had fun on the trampline and Eric climbed the iceberg. I attempted it and got pretty far, but it was just to much work for a short slide down, so I gave up.

Enjoying our relaxing day on the beach.

After we got off the bus from our beach excursion, we got attacked by some natives. HA, kidding. They we singing, dancing and posing for pictures in the street. I am not sure what the one guy is doing to my stomach, but I hope it was innocent. Tall table and chairs in front of Three Amigos bar right before we got back on the ship.

Aren't we cool. We had to get balloon hats at Three Amigos. Everyone else was doing it... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Cozumel had pretty water too.

Our ship.

Our last "Fun Day at Sea" we just enjoyed the sun, the entertainment and our last day of just each other.

View from the back of the boat. Drinks before dinner again.

Ummm....

We were a little upset to have found this guy on our last night. He was in the main Lobby bar and he played great music and was very friendly. We enjoyed him both before and after dinner. If you are ever on the Carnival Triumph see if he is there. He is great and also educational. He knows lots of trivia about the music he sing.

Last beer before headed home.

Happy Anniversary!!!!!

3rd Annual Roan Family Reunion

After we got back from the beach, we had a few days at home before we turned around and went to Toledo Bend to spend some time with the Roan side of the family. It was the 3rd annual Roan family reunion and there was family from all over the country again. Noah and Avery enjoyed spending time with their cousins and Eric and I enjoyed reuniting with family that we only see once a year or more.Gammy cooled off a bit with her kiddos in the pool. It was a hot weekend and I don't know what the kids would have done without the pool.
Daddy and his girl cooling off in front of the fan.
My sweetie and I looking all sweaty, but having a great time nonetheless.

Poppy enjoying a cracker with Avery.

Not so long ago I was posting this same picture of Noah. She's our All American Girl.

Noah had a blast playing with Karoline who I think may have tired of him bossing her around. I suppose she may be used to it being a younger sister, but we will have to work on Noah's bossiness some.

Captain America and his girl. Taylor one of Eric's cousins was passing around tatoo's for everyone on the 4th and this is the one Eric picked. I guess he is Avery's Super Hero.

When Avery wasn't sleeping she was well entertained by the slew of cousins that were there. They also got a kick out of making her laugh.

Well, that is until it came time for a group picture. As you can see it was quite a disaster. Noah wouldn't even get in the picture and obviously Avery was done too. Little Zane was not having any of it either, but Sweet Karoline was all ready to have her picture done. Poor Drew just didn't know what to do with Avery.

Roan Family, 2011. See y'all next year!!!!!!!

Baby Food... Yuck!!!

I have been very blessed to have two beautiful children. I am also very thankful that God has given me two children that sleep well. I also appreciate that he gave me two not picky eaters. Since getting a few tastes of real food, Avery Ann has decided that she doesn't like baby food anymore. But the good news is that she likes everything else. I haven't found one thing yet that she will not eat all of. We have tried, crackers, hamburgers, chicken, noodles, grilled cheese and lots of different veggies, and fruits.
Her favorite of course is those crackers, bananas, and hamburgers.
But she will clean her tray everytime.

Bathtime

Bathtime is quite interesting these days now that Avery is bathing like a "big girl." She loves to be in the tub with Noah but wants to crawl toward him or a toy where she then falls on her face in the water. She tries to stand up, which she can't do yet without holding on; so that is a disaster when she is wet and slippery. Then when you sit her back down, she just gets mad and screams and screams until you take her out of the tub. Noah for some reason loves to bathe with Avery and get upset if you tell him he will bathe later. It is just a moment of chaos in our already chaotic day. I just try to tell myself that these times will not last long and I will miss the madness when it is gone. Right???!!!

This pic and the one below are probably two of my favorite pictures of her that we have so far.

Beach Trip

We took a Marino family trip to the beach in June and had a great time. We just made an extended weekend out of it, and it was just the right length of time for my kids. While Noah was not so crazy about the beach he did have a great time in the pool with his Baba, PawPaw, Craka, and Sissy. Avery spent a lot of time indoors because it was so hot, but she also enjoyed the pool. It was a great mini vacation and I hope we can make it an annual thing.

Excited to go make sand castles.

Making the long trek to go the water.

Baby girl, wanting to get in the water.

Noooo, I don't like the sand. Oh well maybe next year.
Sweet girl and I, probably before a nap.

Oh yummy, Wayer-meyun.

Big girl eating her cracker.

Kind of a scary picture, but he was singing "This Ole' Man" for everyone. It was quite funny, because he stopped in the middle and started saying "one two, buckle my shoe..." We thought he had decided to just stop singing the song, but then he started up again. Come to figure out, it is exactly how it is sang on his CD in Baba's car and he was just singing what he had heard 100s of times.

Pretty girl, loving the water.

He started off being a little afraid of the water, but not long before he was swimming by himself.

Cowboys and Cowgirls

Some time ago, Baba and PawPaw went to Fort Worth and brought Noah home this "Woody" hat, since he loves Toy Story so much. Now Noah wears it around all the time and Avery gets to wear it some.

Woah, this thing is big and heavy.

Yeah, yeah, what are you looking at?
