Videos

Here are some videos of Noah that we have taken in the past week. Just some of the things he has been doing and playing with. Enjoy!!!

Feeding Himself

Our little man is definitely growing up. He is 19 months today and it is hard to believe how fast the time goes. Seems like yesterday I was having to do everything for him and now he is becoming more and more independant. He hardly likes to be fed anymore and wants to do it all by himself, which is fine with me, but a little messy. He also likes to eat his food the way we do, meaning he doesn't want it all broken into pieces. It is fun to watch him try to master these fine motor skills, and know that one day soon he won't need any help at all.

Yum, oatmeal. Oatmeal EVERYWHERE!!!!

What's for dinner, Momma?

Yum, pizza is one of my favorites.

Fun in the Sprinker

Summer has arrived and it is now time to look for some wet outdoor activities. Yesterday I decided to set up the sprinkler for him to cool him off. I didn't put a swim suit on him because I didn't quite know what to expect as he is a little timid when it comes to trying new things. I ran through it with him a couple of times and then set him down, and it didn't take him long to do it himself. He had a ball.

He actually dribbled the soccer ball for a little while. Future soccer player maybe?

When it was time to go inside, I stripped him before we went in since he was soaked. Well being in true little boy fashion, he peed as soon as I took off the diaper. So while I was cleaning that up, he decided to run around naked for while. He ran straight for the wagon, dumped him self in, and then strapped himself in. He was all ready for a ride. I don't know if the neighbors have sunglasses dark enough for that whiteness.

WAKE UP!!!!!!

Our mischievious little man has taken to pushing buttons on Eric's alarm clock when no one is looking. We woke up last Saturday morning to Eric's alarm blaring at its highest volume level, not the radio, the ALARM. Talk about a wake up call. This morning, the radio went off at its highest level and it was in between stations. This new trick of his is definitely one way to get your heart pumping in the mornings.
Who me? I didn't do it.

Chillin at the end of a hard day

Everyone says that Noah looks just like me, and Eric gets upsets everytime someone says this. He wonders if Noah has any part of him at all. Well, I always tease Eric that Noah got his TV watching ability from him. Eric can tune you all the way out, when there is something on TV that catches his interest. Well, these pics of Noah at the end of the day watching Elmo seem to exhibit those same tuning out abilities.

I was even calling his name.

Boat rides

It was a beautiful day at Grama and PawPaw's so we went for a boat ride. I was very encouraged by how well Noah tolerated his life jacket. Last year he screamed as soon as we put it on him. This time, it was like he knew something fun was about to happen.

Little man, waiting go.

Driving the boat with Paw Paw

At least one of them stayed awake to navigate us home.

We Went on Down to the Audubon Zoo...

On one of the beautiful weekends that we had in April we took a family trip to the zoo. I wanted to do something just the three of us and thought this was perfect. Noah has been taking more notice of animals lately so I thought he would enjoy seeing more than just Raleigh. Plus, as much as he enjoys being outside I knew he would like it.

Up close and personal with the giraffes.

Once he saw the giraffe stick out its tongue while eating, he immediately stuck out his own tongue. Then it became a game.

The playground was his favorite bit of course. Can't blame him, it was made just for his size.

Ooh, I can do this all by myself.

We finished off the day witha carosel ride. That was fun too, because it went ra and ra (round and round).

Company Crawfish Boil

In April, we went to Eric's company's crawfish boil and had our first crawfish of the season. They were delicious, and enjoyed by Eric and I very much. Noah didn't eat any crawfish this time, but he did enjoy playing outside on the swings and the slide. I think he was in that swing for at least a half hour and still didn't want to get out when it was time to go.

No crawfish, but he sure enjoyed the Cheetos.

Not so sure about this at the top, but once he got to the bottom, he wanted to do it again.

Jibber jabber

Noah is becoming quite the talker. He is saying lots of words with MaMa, Diddee and Ral being his favorite still. However he knows lots more and has just now started putting two words together. Very basic stuff like Hi Mama, and Stinky Ral Ral, but still impressive for me. It amazes me how fast he is growing and how he seems to do something new every day. He is quite the pro at jibber jabber. While we can't understand any of what he says, it is very obvious that he knows what he is saying because he looks right at you while he does it and is very serious. He also repeats the same "sentences" over and over which tells me that he is trying hard to get his message across.

The following video is kind of hard to hear him, but you get the idea. At the end you can hear Bye Mama and Stinky Ral Ral. I am going to try and get more of this talking on video.

Here are some of the things he can say clearly.

* He knows a lot of animal sounds like tiger, monkey, dog, duck, cat, cow, and sheep.

* Whenever the phone rings, he yells phone. Even if it rings while he is in bed.

* Whenever I hang up the phone he says bye bye right after I do.

* He can asked for water clearly. He still says ba ba for milk and banana though.

* In fact, when in doubt he says baba. If you asked him his name, he says Baba. If you asked him what 102 x 107 is he says baba. If he doesn't know the answer he says baba. It is funny to think about, but kind of frustrating when he really wants baba and you don't know what he is talking about. Baba is definitely, milk, banana, Elmo and blanket so we start with those.

* He can say "nine", "ten" and "five" and even recognize them. This shocked me, I don't know where he got that from, but I was very impressed with my little guy.

* There are lots more, that I will have to think about.

Easter Weekend

We spent Easter weekend at Toledo Bend with the Roan family. We had a blast with Gammy, Poppy, Aunt Suzi and MeMa. Noah also enjoyed the Duffy clan and as always was enamored with his cousins. This was his first visit to the camp since he became a walker and he was a lot of work. He loves being outside, so he had a wonderful time, but he had to be watched at all times. We spent alot of time having Easter egg hunts, wagon rides, and walking up and down the hill. He got a few bruises and scrapes, but it didn't phase him long. He was a man on the go.

Noah and Poppy on his first of many trips down the hill to the water.

Going straight toward the steps. Noah loves steps so the camp was heaven for him.

Where to go next?

Wagon ride with Karoline or (Kare) as he called her.

First egg. By the end the basket was full. He had the hang of it this time.

Klaire helped him alot with his Easter egg hunting. He still smiles everytime he sees her and she is great with him. He calls her "Kare" too.

Taking a break to eat the candy in the egg.

Not impressed with dying eggs. He just wanted to go back outside.

The Easter bunny brought Noah an Elmo, a tunnel and some more eggs.

Finding the eggs that the Easter bunny left.

You might not be able to tell but that is a smile. He has been grinning at us like that a lot lately. He just walks up to me with that squished up face grin and says MaMa.

All the cousins on Sunday before it was time to say bye.

Noah and Did-eee

Nothing warms my heart more than watching Eric and Noah play together. They enjoy each other so much and they both light up when the other comes into the room. Noah calls him "Didee", which sounds just like Daddy but with a short "i" instead of a "a". As soon as Eric's truck pulls in the driveway in the afternoon, Noah runs to the door saying Didee, Didee. When prompted he will say "Hiiiiiii Didee," which is extremely precious. I am so glad that I was able to give Eric a buddy and I know he can't wait for the day that he can share more and more experiences with Noah.

Noah helped pull weeds for about 3 seconds. Just long enough to catch it in a picture, but he looks really into it doesn't he?

Noah isn't much of a snuggler, unless you are reading him a book. Then he just relaxes on you and enjoys his book.
